Shanghai Daily a Blantenly Democratic Newspaper

An article entitled, Economy curbs McCain's final 3-week push , was published by China's Shanghai Daily Newspaper on October 13th 2008, just two days before the third presidential debate. The article opens with, " REPUBLICAN John McCain, his presidential hopes battered by chaos in the American economy." The article goes on to discuss McCain's, "fruitless efforts" to dismount Obama's seemingly secure victory over the American presidency. Two paragraphs later the article dismisses all thoughts of McCain and proceeds to talk about Hilary and Bill Clinton backing Obama the day that the article was written.

When reading this article the only thing the reader can think of is democrat, democrat, democrat. At no point is there anything in the article qualitatively discussing the arguments of both sides, the republican argument is just simply not written. It seems as though there is a line drawn in the sand and the Shanghai Daily is on the democratic side. Does this mean that the whole country of China is democratic or just this newspaper?
